This poor chap had been left outside, on his side, in the pouring rain. The owner actually wondered why it didn't work. Amazingly enough, having stripped everything down, the motor itself, albeit a bit of rust here and there, was actually only suffering from seized brushes, that weren't making a proper contact. Cleaned everything up, re-built, tested and put the smile back on his face !
